Location Manager from Tucson Shares Her Work Day StoriesOver the many years we have been facilitating filmmaking in our region, we’ve been very fortunate to work with some of the best Location Managers in the business: Ilt Jones/Michael Wesley with Michael Bay’s summer blockbuster Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Jean Chien with the recently-released Sam Mendes comedy Away We Go and Ken Lavet with Traffic, just to name a few. We also consider ourselves lucky to have worked extensively with Location Manager extraordinaire Nancy Haecker--a part-time Tucson resident--who is currently handling location duties for the hit TV series House. We assisted Nancy when she was managing the Tucson-area location duties for Three Kings and Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, and we always delight in hearing the many interesting stories she has whenever she’s back in Tucson. Luckily, American Public Media has put a microphone in front of her for their show Marketplace Money and captured some of her on-the-job tales for posterity. Make sure to listen to this short yet thoroughly entertaining audio clip to hear a typical day in Nancy Haecker’s work week.
